HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE AAHS

SAVE BY JOINING BOTH THE ANGUILLA NATIONAL TRUST AND THE ANGUILLA ARCHEOLOGY & HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Dear Friends;

          Today more than ever, the cultural, historical and environmental treasures of Anguilla need to be protected for the future generations to come.  This task falls to the Anguilla National Trust (ANT) and the Archaeological and Historical Society (AAHS), two non-government organizations directed by a dedicated group of volunteers.  How are these organizations helping to fulfill their missions?
          The Anguilla National Trust - The ANT was established in 1993 to act as a custodian of Anguilla’s natural and cultural heritage. While the Trust is an organization that is supported by the Government of Anguilla, in order to be a truly national body that represents you and your voice, we need your support. By joining the ANT, you become a part of a network of national and international members who are helping to conserve and preserve Anguilla’s important resources. A few of the recent projects that we have been involved with include environmental public awareness campaigns, an on-going wetland bird count programme, a marine parks management initiative, the restoration of the Old Police Station at Sandy Hill, East End Heritage Tours, and the management of the island’s protected areas, including Big Spring Heritage Site and Fountain Cavern National Park.
           The Anguilla Archaeological and Historical Society – The recently reorganized Society depends entirely on memberships and donations for funding to complete it’s mission.  Made up of a group of dedicated volunteers, the Society concentrates on the development and protection of historical and cultural sites.  Current projects include the erection of signs at historical sites, planning for the long awaited Anguilla Museum project, identification of Anguilla shipwreck sites for future protection, and the recording of the historical events in Anguilla’s past.  The Society is also arranging for a small archaeological expedition to explore possible Amerindian sites on the West End of Anguilla.
          How Can You Help? – Both the ANT and the AAHS are currently conducting a membership drive, and are asking for your support by joining both Organizations.  Also, please note the savings by joining both organizations at the same time.  Your membership will be acknowledged in writing, and your data added to our email/mailing list for notification of future events and meetings.  So please help in these important projects by completing and mailing the form below.  And thank you again for your support.
